FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS On July 27, 2022, the Committee convened for the purpose of considering the July 19, 2022, arrests of 17 Members of the House for Crowding, Obstructing, or Incommoding, during a protest outside the United States Supreme Court Building in Washington, D.C. Representatives Alma Adams, Cori Bush, Katherine Clark, Madeline Dean, Veronica Escobar, Sara Jacobs, Barbara Lee, Andy Levin, Carolyn Maloney, Alexandria Ocasio- Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Ayanna Pressley, Jan Schakowsky, Jackie Speier, Rashida Tlaib, Nydia Velazquez, and Bonnie Watson Coleman were arrested and then released. Each of the arrested Members informed the Committee they have paid or intend to pay the $50 fines related to their arrests. The legal proceedings related to the arrests are expected to be resolved with no further action. The Committee voted against impanelling an investigative subcommittee in this matter. The Committee considered the scope and nature of the conduct described above and determined that review by an investigative subcommittee is not required in this matter. The Committee has determined to take no further action in this matter, and upon publication of this Report, considers the matter closed. II. STATEMENT UNDER HOUSE RULE XIII, CLAUSE 3(C) The Committee made no special oversight findings in this Report. No budget statement is submitted. No funding is authorized by any measure in this Report.
