OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES REGARDING CERTAIN PROVISIONS OF THE
SENATE AMENDMENT TO H.R. 2642 RELATING TO THE SECRETARY OF
AGRICULTURE'S ADMINISTRATION OF TARIFF-RATE QUOTAS FOR RAW AND REFINED

The Committee on Rules, having had under consideration
House Resolution 380, by a nonrecord vote, report the same to
the House with the recommendation that the resolution be
adopted.
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS OF THE RESOLUTION
The resolution makes in order a motion offered by the chair
of the Committee on Agriculture or his designee that the House
insist on its amendment to the Senate amendment to H.R. 2642
and agree to a conference with the Senate thereon. The
resolution waives all points of order against consideration of
the motion.
Section 2 of the resolution provides for consideration of
H. Res. 378, expressing the sense of the House of
Representatives regarding certain provisions of the Senate
amendment to H.R. 2642 relating to the Secretary of
Agriculture's administration of tariff-rate quotas for raw and
refined sugar, under a closed rule. The resolution provides one
hour of debate equally divided and controlled by Representative
Pitts of Pennsylvania or his designee and an opponent. The
resolution waives all points of order against consideration of
the resolution. The resolution provides that the resolution
shall be considered as read.

H. Res. 379, expressing the sense of the House of
Representatives regarding certain provisions of the Senate
amendment to H.R. 2642 relating to crop insurance, under a
closed rule. The resolution provides one hour of debate equally
divided and controlled by Representative Ryan of Wisconsin or
his designee and an opponent. The resolution waives all points
of order against consideration of the resolution. The
resolution provides that the resolution shall be considered as
read.
EXPLANATION OF WAIVERS
Although the resolution waives all points of order against
consideration of the motion to agree to a conference on H.R.
2642, the Committee is not aware of any points of order. The
waiver is prophylactic in nature.
