GERALD E. CONNOLLY of virginia in the house of representatives Wednesday, June 26, 2013 Mr. CONNOLLY. Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize the volunteers for Literacy Volunteers of America-Prince William, Inc. (LVA-PW). Serving Prince William County for the last 23 years, LVA-PW is a non-profit affiliate of ProLiteracy America dedicated to offering free literacy instruction for adults. With over 685 adult learners, LVA-PW's mission is to teach adults to read, write, and communicate effectively and acquire basic literacy skills to become self-sufficient, better themselves and their families, and enable them to more actively participate in the community. LVA-PW provides free basic literacy instruction, English as a Second Language, computer and workplace literacy, Pre-GED and GED tutoring, and ESOL/Civic tutoring services to the community; none of which would be possible without the unwavering efforts of LVA-PW volunteers.
