                                ETHANOL

Mr. GRASSLEY. Mr. President, once again, I am here to educate my
colleagues about the necessity for passing the ethanol issue of E15 in
this Congress.
As Iowa families are going on their summer vacations and people visit
or pass through my home State, we are seeing the evidence in Iowa that
drivers are demanding E15 with their pocketbooks.
New data from the Iowa Department of Revenue shows Iowa drivers
purchased 47 million gallons of E15 in May. This is a new monthly
record. That puts E15 on track to be about 50 percent of all gasoline
sales in Iowa in 2026, up from 27 percent last year.
Drivers know that E15 delivers lower costs for families, saving them
up to 40 cents per gallon. This can be hundreds of dollars per year,
giving working families more money for groceries, housing, and
necessities.
When Iowans are allowed to make choices at the pump, more are
choosing E15. The growth of E15 in Iowa shows that American consumers
want this chance to save money. This is another reason why the Senate
must pass year-round E15, putting $14 billion more in the pockets of
farmers with the increased price of corn.
