APPROPRIATIONS: SUPREME COURT
Committee on Appropriations: Subcommittee on Financial Services and 
General Government concluded a hearing to examine proposed budget 
estimates and justification for fiscal year 2027 for the Supreme Court 
of the United States, after receiving testimony from Amy Coney Barrett, 
and Elena Kagan, both an Associate Justice, Supreme Court of the United 
States.
NOMINATIONS
Committee on Armed Services: Committee concluded a hearing to examine 
the nominations of Jules Hurst III, of Virginia, to be Under Secretary 
(Comptroller), Richard O'Malley, of Wisconsin, to be a Deputy Under 
Secretary, Roger Mason, of Virginia, to be Director of the National 
Reconnaissance Office, and Erich Hernandez-Baquero, of Florida, to be 
an Assistant Secretary of the Air Force, all of the Department of 
Defense, after the nominees testified and answered questions in their 
own behalf.
BUSINESS MEETING
Committee on Armed Services: Committee ordered favorably reported 2,274 
military nominations in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and 
Space Force.

Committee on Finance: Committee ordered favorably reported the 
nominations of Brett Doyle, of Connecticut, David Foley, Jr., of 
Virginia, Samuel Negatu, of the District of Columbia, Peter-Anthony 
Pappas, of New Jersey, and Bartholomew Thanhauser, of New York, all to 
be a Member of the United States International Trade Commission.
NATIONAL SECURITY
Committee on Foreign Relations: Subcommittee on Western Hemisphere, 
Transnational Crime, Civilian Security, Democracy, Human Rights, and 
Global Women's Issues concluded a hearing to examine the national 
security strategy and the western hemisphere, after receiving testimony 
from Michael Kozak, Senior Bureau Official, Bureau of Western 
Hemisphere Affairs, Department of State.
PATENT ELIGIBILITY
Committee on the Judiciary: Committee concluded a hearing to examine 
genes to machines, focusing on the patent eligibility debate, after 
receiving testimony from Andrei Iancu, former Under Secretary of 
Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the U.S. Patent and 
Trademark Office, Los Angeles, California; J. John Lee, Computer and 
Communications Industry Association, and Sue Peschin, Alliance for 
Aging Research, both of Washington, D.C.; and Debra Leonard, Robert
