  SA 6611. Mr. CRUZ submitted an amendment intended to be proposed by 
him to the bill S. 4784, to authorize appropriations for fiscal year 
2027 for military activities of the Department of Defense, for military 
construction, and for defense activities of the Department of Energy, 
to prescribe military personnel strengths for such fiscal year, and for 
other purposes; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows:

       At the end of part I of subtitle F of title VI, add the 
     following:

     SEC. 553. TREATMENT OF HOMESCHOOLED CHILDREN OF MEMBERS UNDER 
                   STATE LAW.

       Subchapter I of chapter 88 of title 10, United States Code, 
     is amended by adding at the end the following new section:

     ``Sec. 1790a. Treatment of homeschooled children of members 
       under State law

       ``A dependent child of a member of the armed forces who is 
     educated at home and is covered by military orders for a 
     permanent change of station to a location in a State shall be 
     considered in compliance with all compulsory education and 
     homeschooling provisions of law of the State, if the 
     dependent child is in compliance with all the compulsory 
     education and homeschooling provisions of law of that State 
     or the State of the legal residence of the member.''.
