HONORING RIC DIMPFL ON THE OCCASION OF HIS 75TH BIRTHDAY AND OVER 50
YEARS OF DEDICATION TO THE VOLUNTEER FIRE SERVICE
______
HON. NICHOLAS A. LANGWORTHY
of new york
in the house of representatives
Wednesday, June 10, 2026
Mr. LANGWORTHY. Mr. Speaker, I rise today to honor Ric Dimpfl on the
occasion of his 75th birthday and to recognize a lifetime of
extraordinary service to his community and the fire service. For over
50 years, Ric has proudly served with the Hamburg Volunteer Fire
Department, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to protecting the
lives and property of others.
Beyond his service as a firefighter, Ric has been a tireless advocate
for emergency responders throughout New York State. In 1991, he co-
founded The Firefighter newspaper, providing a respected voice for the
fire service community. He has also spent decades working with elected
officials to advance legislation and policies that strengthen emergency
services and support first responders.
Ric's lasting impact on the fire service was recognized in 2025 when
he was inducted into the Erie County Fire Wall of Honor. This
distinction reflects not only his decades of service but also his
leadership, advocacy, and dedication to improving the fire service for
future generations. He is supported and celebrated by his wife, Sharon,
as well as his children and grandchildren, who share in the pride of
his remarkable legacy.
Mr. Speaker, I ask that the United States House of Representatives
join me in honoring Ric Dimpfl on his 75th birthday and thanking him
for his extraordinary contributions to the Hamburg Volunteer Fire
Department, Erie County, and the State of New York. His commitment to
service, community, and family stands as an enduring example to all.
