  SA 5527. Mr. BENNET submitted an amendment intended to be proposed by 
him to the bill S. 2, to provide for reconciliation pursuant to title 
II of S. Con. Res. 33; which was ordered to lie on the table; as 
follows:

       At the appropriate place, insert the following:

     SEC. __. PROHIBITION ON SETTLEMENT AGREEMENTS PROHIBITING TAX 
                   AUDITS OF THE PRESIDENT.

       (a) In General.--The Attorney General may not enter into 
     any settlement agreement that prohibits, bars, or precludes 
     the Internal Revenue Service from examining the tax returns 
     of the President.
       (b) Portion of Settlement Agreement Relating to the Taxes 
     of President Trump.--The portion of the settlement agreement 
     in Trump v. Internal Revenue Service, announced on May 19, 
     2026, that bars and precludes examinations of the tax returns 
     of President Trump, and claims or actions resulting from such 
     examinations, shall have no force and effect.
