  SA 5507. Ms. HIRONO (for herself and Mr. Van Hollen) submitted an 
amendment intended to be proposed by her to the bill S. 2, to provide 
for reconciliation pursuant to title II of S. Con. Res. 33; which was 
ordered to lie on the table; as follows:

        Strike all after the enacting clause and insert the 
     following:

     SECTION 1. FUNDING FOR FEDERAL PELL GRANTS.

       In addition to amounts otherwise available, there is 
     appropriated to the Secretary of Education for fiscal year 
     2026, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise 
     appropriated, $17,000,000,000 for awarding Federal Pell 
     Grants under section 401 of the Higher Education Act of 1965 
     (20 U.S.C. 1070a).
