  SA 5503. Ms. HIRONO (for herself and Mr. Van Hollen) submitted an 
amendment intended to be proposed by her to the bill S. 2, to provide 
for reconciliation pursuant to title II of S. Con. Res. 33; which was 
ordered to lie on the table; as follows:

        Strike all after the enacting clause and insert the 
     following:

     SEC. __. PAYMENTS TO STATES FOR THE CHILD CARE AND 
                   DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT ACT OF 1990.

       In addition to amounts otherwise available, there is 
     appropriated to the Secretary of Health and Human Services 
     for fiscal year 2026, out of any money in the Treasury not 
     otherwise appropriated, $18,000,000,000 for carrying out the 
     Child Care and Development Block Grant Act of 1990 (42 U.S.C. 
     9857 et seq.).
