SA 5469. Mr. CASSIDY submitted an amendment intended to be proposed
by him to the bill S. 2, to provide for reconciliation pursuant to
title II of S. Con. Res. 33; which was ordered to lie on the table; as
follows:
At the appropriate place, insert the following:
SEC. __. PROHIBITION ON SETTLEMENT AGREEMENTS PROHIBITING TAX
AUDITS OF THE PRESIDENT.
Neither the Secretary of the Treasury (or the Secretary's
delegate) nor the Attorney General may enter any settlement
agreement that prohibits, bars, or precludes the Internal
Revenue Service from examining the tax returns of the
President.
