                        TRIBUTE TO HANNAH HARPER

Mr. SCHMITT. Mr. President, today, I rise to honor Hannah
Harper of Willow Springs, MO. Since she was a child, the Harper family
has been firmly immersed in the American staples of bluegrass and folk
music, and this background has helped mold her into a truly remarkable
vocalist. A lifelong Missourian with deep roots in the Ozarks, she has
balanced raising a family with her rapidly growing musical career. Her
ability to address real life topics through her art, such as the
challenges and blessing of parenthood through her heartfelt song
``String Cheese,'' is truly inspiring.
Recently, Hannah won the 24th season of American Idol. I have no
doubt that she has a bright future ahead of her and will continue to
bring our home State's unique musical heritage to the national stage.
Hannah Harper has represented the Show-Me-State very well, and I am
proud to call her a fellow Missourian and parent to three wonderful
children. I wish her all the best, both in her family life, as well as
in her career.
