Committee on Appropriations: Subcommittee on Military Construction, 
Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies concluded a hearing to examine 
proposed budget estimates and justification for fiscal year 2027 for 
Military Construction and Family Housing, after receiving testimony 
from Lieutenant General Kenyon K. Bell, USAF, Deputy Chief of Staff for 
Logistics, Engineering and Force Protection, Kathryn L. Kolbe, USSF, 
Assistant Deputy Chief of Space Operations, Installations and 
Logistics, Lieutenant General Stephen D. Sklenka, USMC, Deputy 
Commandant, Installations and Logistics, and Rear Admiral Timothy 
Brown, USN, Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Installations and 
Logistics, all of the Department of Defense.
APPROPRIATIONS: DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT
Committee on Appropriations: Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing 
and Urban Development, and Related Agencies concluded a hearing to 
examine proposed budget estimates and justification for fiscal year 
2027 for the Department of Housing and Urban Development, after 
receiving testimony from E. Scott Turner, Secretary of Housing and 
Urban Development.
DEFENSE AUTHORIZATION REQUEST AND FUTURE YEARS DEFENSE PROGRAM
Committee on Armed Services: Committee concluded open and closed 
hearings to examine the posture of the United States Central Command 
and United States Africa Command in review of the Defense Authorization 
Request for Fiscal Year 2027 and the Future Years Defense Program, 
after receiving testimony from Admiral Charles Bradford Cooper II, USN, 
Commander, United States Central Command, and General Dagvin R.M. 
Anderson, USAF, Commander, United States Africa Command, both of the 
Department of Defense.
BUSINESS MEETING
Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs: Committee ordered 
favorably reported H.R. 3633, to provide for a system of regulation of 
the offer and sale of digital commodities by the Securities and 
Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, with 
an amendment in the nature of a substitute.
BUSINESS MEETING
Committee on the Judiciary: Committee ordered favorably reported the 
following business items:
  S. 3966, to prohibit the enforcement of certain contractual clauses 
that restrict disclosure of sexual abuse of minors;
  S. 736, to increase the penalty for prohibited provision of a phone 
in a correctional facility;
  S. 825, to require the Attorney General to propose a program for 
making treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder and acute stress 
disorder available to public safety officers;
  S. 4394, to amend the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 
1968 to improve the COPS program with respect to training command-level

personnel, with an amendment in the nature of a substitute;
  S. 3897, to revise administrative procedures relating to public 
safety officers' death benefits, with an amendment in the nature of a 
substitute;
  S. 1890, to establish a grant program for certain State and local 
forensic activities, with an amendment in the nature of a substitute;
  S. 3041, to allow the U.S. Marshals Service to assist in certain 
Tribal criminal matters, with an amendment in the nature of a 
substitute; and
  The nominations of Justin D. Smith, of Missouri, to be United States 
Circuit Judge for the Eighth Circuit, Jeffrey M. Kuhlman, Anthony W. 
Mattivi, and Anthony J. Powell, each to be a United States District 
Judge for the District of Kansas, Timothy VerHey, to be United States 
Attorney for the Western District of Michigan, James Arnott, to be 
United States Marshal for the Western District of Missouri, Jack 
Chambers, to be United States Marshal for the Southern District of West 
Virginia, and Jason Holt, to be United States Marshal for the Northern 
District of Oklahoma, all of the Department of Justice.
