RECOGNIZING JEFFREY WANAMAKER ON HIS RETIREMENT

(Mr. LAWLER asked and was given permission to address the House for 1
minute and to revise and extend his remarks.)
Mr. LAWLER. Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize and congratulate
Clarkstown Police Chief Jeff Wanamaker on his retirement after nearly
four decades of service to the town of Clarkstown and Rockland County.
Beginning his law enforcement career with the Clarkstown Police
Department in 1987, he rose through every rank of the department,
serving as a patrol officer, field training officer, detective,
sergeant, lieutenant, captain, and, ultimately, chief. He also served
as a volunteer firefighter.
A graduate of Nyack High School, SUNY Oneonta, Seton Hall University,
and the FBI National Police Academy, Chief Wanamaker served with
distinction on the department's honor guard, leading with the simple
principle of community first.
Chief Wanamaker's career reflects the very best of law enforcement. A
devoted family man and respected leader, he has spent his entire adult
life protecting others.
Mr. Speaker, I join the people of Clarkstown in thanking him for his
extraordinary service and wish him and his family all the best in a
well-earned retirement. I thank my friend for his many years of
dedicated service. God bless him.
