  Mr. BILIRAKIS. Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize a remarkable 
community leader and small business owner, John Loetscher, whose 
passion, vision, and tireless dedication have helped shape the 
character and vitality of downtown Brooksville.
  If Brooksville Main Street is the heartbeat of our town, John 
Loetscher is undoubtedly one of its primary driving forces. As the 
owner of Country Depot, John has built more than a successful retail 
establishment he has created a cornerstone of community spirit. His 
contributions extend far beyond his storefront, touching nearly every 
facet of our downtown's growth and charm. John serves as a powerhouse 
member of the Brooksville Main Street Economic Vitality Committee. He 
is a steadfast advocate for local businesses and a tireless champion 
for economic development. Known for ``rallying the troops,'' John 
brings business owners together with the shared understanding that our 
downtown thrives when we work collectively. He consistently looks 
beyond his own interests, focusing instead on

strategies that elevate the entire district. His leadership reflects a 
simple but powerful belief: we are stronger together.
  In addition to his strategic vision, John has helped create the 
magical, nostalgic atmosphere that defines the Brooksville experience. 
Through his coordination of carriage rides, he has brought elegance and 
old-world charm to our streets. From romantic Valentine's Day evenings 
to the festive glow of Christmas, from Heritage Days celebrations to 
Halloween hayrides, John's efforts have created lasting memories for 
thousands of families. These experiences are more than attractions--
they are living bridges that connect Brooksville's rich history with 
its vibrant future. Yet perhaps John's greatest contribution is the 
spirit he brings to our community. He is one of the most visible and 
approachable business owners in our district. His positivity is 
infectious, and he possesses a rare ability to turn first-time visitors 
into lifelong friends within moments. Whether offering encouragement to 
a neighbor, welcoming a newcomer with genuine warmth, or lending a 
listening ear to someone in need, John embodies kindness and 
generosity. His enthusiasm extends to every aspect of life--from 
passionately cheering on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Tampa Bay 
Lightning to brainstorming the next great idea for Main Street. His 
energy never wavers, and his optimism continues to inspire those around 
him.
  John Loetscher represents the very best of Brooksville: tradition, 
hospitality, vision, and an unwavering commitment to community. It is 
my honor to recognize John Loetscher as a 2026 Hero Among Us for 
Florida's 12th Congressional District due to his extraordinary 
contributions to our town. Brooksville is stronger, more vibrant, and 
more connected because of him.
