HONORING THE LIFE AND CAREER OF G. WILLIAM ``BILL'' WARD
______
HON. JOHN JOYCE
of pennsylvania
in the house of representatives
Wednesday, January 7, 2026
Mr. JOYCE of Pennsylvania. Mr. Speaker, I rise to honor the life and
career of G. William ``Bill'' Ward, a widely respected corporate
executive, community leader, and U.S. Navy veteran who passed away on
December 17 in Blair County.
Bill's career at family-owned Ward Trucking Corp. spanned more than
50 years, beginning in 1956. Bill served as both president and chairman
of the board.
Bill was a driving force in the trucking industry who was gifted with
the ability to relate to people from across the broad spectrum of
society.
Tributes to Bill have included recognition of his philanthropic
spirit, integrity, community service, and mentorship.
As one long-time friend noted so perfectly, ``Trying to capture the
life of Bill Ward in a few words is a daunting task, as this was a man
who was truly larger than life.''
As we remember Bill, his legacy will live on through his family and
their commitment to transportation.
Please join me in remembering the life of G. William Ward.
