NATIONAL GUARD DEPLOYMENT
Committee on Armed Services: Committee concluded a hearing to examine 
the Administration's deployment of the National Guard across the United 
States, after receiving testimony from Charles L. Young III, Principal 
Deputy General Counsel, Mark R. Ditlevson, Principal Deputy Assistant 
Secretary of Defense for Homeland Defense and Americas Security 
Affairs, and General Gregory M. Guillot, USAF, Commander, United States 
Northern Command, all of the Department of Defense.
NOMINATIONS
Committee on Foreign Relations: Committee concluded a hearing to 
examine the nominations of Frank Weiland, of the District of Columbia, 
to be an Assistant Secretary (International Narcotics and Law 
Enforcement Affairs), who was introduced by Senator Cornyn, Jennifer 
Wicks McNamara, of Virginia, to be Ambassador to the Socialist Republic 
of Vietnam, Eric Meyer, of California, to be Ambassador to the 
Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, and Gregory LoGerfo, of 
Massachusetts, to be Coordinator for Counterterrorism, with the rank 
and status of Ambassador at Large, all of the Department of State, 
after the nominees testified and answered questions in their own 
behalf.
FED's IORB REGIME
Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs: Committee 
concluded an oversight hearing to examine the Federal Reserve's big 
bank welfare program, focusing on the IORB regime, including S. 2113, 
to amend the Federal Reserve Act to prohibit earnings on balances 
maintained at a Federal Reserve bank by or on behalf of a depository 
institution, and S. 2327, to require a full audit of the Board of 
Governors of the Federal Reserve System and the Federal reserve banks 
by the Comptroller General of the United States, after receiving 
testimony from Norbert J. Michel, Cato Institute Center for Monetary 
and Financial Alternatives, and Donald Kohn, The Brookings Institution, 
both of Washington, D.C.; Ryan Young, Competitive Enterprise Institute, 
Elmhurst, Illinois; and Brian S. Wesbury, First Trust Advisors L.P., 
Denver, Colorado.
ORGAN PROCUREMENT AND TRANSPLANTATION NETWORK
Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions: Committee 
concluded a hearing to examine the future of the U.S. organ procurement 
and transplantation network, after receiving testimony from John C. 
Magee, Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network Board of 
Directors, Ann Arbor, Michigan; Seth J. Karp, Vanderbilt University 
Medical Center, Nashville, Tennessee; and Anthony Wright, Families USA, 
Washington, D.C.

nominations of David Clay Fowlkes, to be United States District Judge 
for the Western District of Arkansas, Nicholas Jon Ganjei, to be United 
States District Judge for the Southern District of Texas, Aaron 
Christian Peterson, to be United States District Judge for the District 
of Alaska, Andrew Benson, to be United States Attorney for the District 
of Maine, William Boyle, to be United States Attorney for the Eastern 
District of North Carolina, Richard Price, to be United States Attorney 
for the Western District of Missouri, Darin Smith, to be United States 
Attorney for the District of Wyoming.
