  SA 3544. Ms. WARREN submitted an amendment intended to be proposed by 
her to the bill S. 2296, to authorize appropriations for fiscal year 
2026 for military activities of the Department of Defense, for military 
construction, and for defense activities of the Department of Energy, 
to prescribe military personnel strengths for such fiscal year, and for 
other purposes; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows:

        At the appropriate place in title XXVIII, insert the 
     following:

     SEC. 28__. APPLICATION OF STATE AND LOCAL HOUSING LAWS TO 
                   PRIVATIZED MILITARY HOUSING.

       Section 2890 of title 10, United States Code is amended by 
     adding at the end the following new subsection:
       ``(g) Treatment of Housing Laws.--State and local laws 
     providing housing protections that apply to tenants of any 
     housing in a jurisdiction surrounding a military installation 
     in the United States apply to tenants residing in housing 
     units acquired or constructed under subchapter IV of this 
     chapter on that military installation, including any military 
     installation that is considered a Federal enclave.''.
