  SA 3336. Mr. SCHIFF submitted an amendment intended to be proposed by 
him to the bill S. 2296, to authorize appropriations for fiscal year 
2026 for military activities of the Department of Defense, for military 
construction, and for defense activities of the Department of Energy, 
to prescribe military personnel strengths for such fiscal year, and for 
other purposes; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows:

       At the end of subtitle A of title VI, add the following:

     SEC. 605. EXCLUSION OF BASIC ALLOWANCE FOR HOUSING FROM 
                   CALCULATION OF INCOME FOR BASIC NEEDS ALLOWANCE 
                   ELIGIBILITY.

       Section 402b(k)(1) of title 37, United States Code, is 
     amended by striking subparagraph (B) and inserting the 
     following new subparagraph (B):
       ``(B) the basic allowance for housing under section 403 of 
     this title.''.
