SA 3132. Mr. SCOTT of Florida submitted an amendment intended to be
proposed by him to the bill S. 2296, to authorize appropriations for
fiscal year 2026 for military activities of the Department of Defense,
for military construction, and for defense activities of the Department
of Energy, to prescribe military personnel strengths for such fiscal
year, and for other purposes; which was ordered to lie on the table; as
follows:
At the appropriate place in title XI, insert the following:
SEC. __. TERM APPOINTMENTS FOR CIVILIAN FACULTY AT UNITED
STATES MILITARY ACADEMY, UNITED STATES NAVAL
ACADEMY, AND UNITED STATES AIR FORCE ACADEMY.
(a) United States Military Academy.--Section 7438 of title
10, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the
following new subsection:
``(d)(1) Any person employed under this section shall be
appointed for an initial term of not less than two years and
not more than eight years.
``(2) Any term of appointment of a person employed under
this section may be renewed for one or more additional terms
of not less than two years and not more than eight years, as
determined by the Secretary of the Army.''.
(b) United States Naval Academy.--Section 8452 of such
title is amended by adding at the end the following new
subsection:
``(e)(1) Any person employed under this section shall be
appointed for an initial term of not less than two years and
not more than eight years.
``(2) Any term of appointment of a person employed under
this section may be renewed for one or more additional terms
of not less than two years and not more than eight years, as
determined by the Secretary of the Navy.''.
(c) United States Air Force Academy.--Section 9438 of such
title is amended by adding at the end the following new
subsection:
``(d)(1) Any person employed under this section shall be
appointed for an initial term of not less than two years and
not more than eight years.
``(2) Any term of appointment of a person employed under
this section may be renewed for one or more additional terms
of not less than two years and not more than eight years, as
determined by the Secretary of the Air Force.''.
