BUSINESS MEETING
Committee on Appropriations: Committee ordered favorably reported the 
following business items:
  H.R. 3944, making appropriations for military construction, the 
Department of Veterans Affairs, and related agencies for the fiscal 
year ending September 30, 2026, with an amendment in the nature of a 
substitute; and
  An original bill (S. 2354) entitled, ``Commerce, Justice, Science, 
and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2026''.
FREEDOM TO WORK
Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions: Committee 
concluded a hearing to examine freedom to work, focusing on unlocking 
benefits for independent workers, after receiving testimony from 
Patrice Onwuka, Independent Women, Bowie, Maryland; Kim Kavin, Imagine 
Media LLC, Morris County, New Jersey; Kev Coleman, Paragon Health 
Institute, Franklin, Tennessee; and Timothy J. Driscoll, International 
Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers, and Karen Friedman, 
Pension Rights Center, both of Washington, D.C.
NOMINATION
Committee on Indian Affairs: Committee concluded a hearing to examine 
the nomination of William Kirkland, of Georgia, to be an Assistant 
Secretary of the Interior, after the nominee, who was introduced by 
Representative Jack, testified and answered questions in his own 
behalf.
BUSINESS MEETING
Committee on the Judiciary: Committee ordered favorably reported the 
nominations of Emil J. Bove III, of Pennsylvania, to be United States 
Circuit Judge for the Third Circuit, Edward L. Artau, to be United 
States District Judge for the Southern District of Florida, Kyle 
Christopher Dudek, Anne-Leigh Gaylord Moe, and Jordan Emery Pratt, each 
to be United States District Judge for the Middle District of Florida.
