  SA 2794. Mr. PETERS submitted an amendment intended to be proposed to 
amendment SA 2360 proposed by Mr. Thune (for Mr. Graham) to the bill 
H.R. 1, to provide for reconciliation pursuant to title II of H. Con. 
Res. 14; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows:

        On page 824, line 1, strike ``$46,550,000,000'' and insert 
     ``$46,412,000,000''.
       On page 835, between lines 5 and 6, insert the following:

     SEC. 90008. OFFICE OF THE IMMIGRATION DETENTION OMBUDSMAN.

       In addition to amounts otherwise available, there is 
     appropriated to the Office of the Immigration Detention 
     Ombudsman for fiscal year 2025, out of any money in the 
     Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to remain available 
     until September 30, 2029, $138,000,000, to accommodate 
     increased workload expected to result from recent Executive 
     orders and changes to immigration policies and programs: 
     Provided, That the Office of the Immigration Detention 
     Ombudsman shall maintain its independence and oversight 
     functions, which are vital to monitoring and investigating 
     complaints.
