SA 2624. Mr. REED submitted an amendment intended to be proposed by
him to the bill H.R. 1, to provide for reconciliation pursuant to title
II of H. Con. Res. 14; which was ordered to lie on the table; as
follows:
At the appropriate place, insert the following:
SEC. ___. PROTECTION OF MEDICAID BENEFICIARIES.
The provisions of, and the amendments made by, chapters 1
and 2 of subtitle B title VII of this Act shall not take
effect, and no funds shall be expended to implement such
provisions and amendments, until the date on which the
Administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services
certifies that implementation of such provisions and
amendments shall not result in any individuals who are
eligible for medical assistance under a State plan under
title XIX of the Social Security Act or under a waiver of
such plan as of the date of enactment of this Act losing
benefits under such a State plan or waiver.
