  SA 2449. Mr. MERKLEY submitted an amendment intended to be proposed 
to amendment SA 2360 proposed by Mr. Thune (for Mr. Graham) to the bill 
H.R. 1, to provide for reconciliation pursuant to title II of H. Con. 
Res. 14; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows:

       In section 50302(a)(3), strike subparagraph (C) and insert 
     the following:
       (C) Receipts.--Of the monies derived from a timber sale 
     contract entered into to meet the requirements under 
     subparagraphs (A) and (B)--
       (i) 50 percent shall be deposited in the general fund of 
     the Treasury; and
       (ii) 50 percent shall be distributed to the county within 
     the boundaries of which the applicable National Forest System 
     land is located.
       In section 50302(b)(3), strike subparagraph (C) and insert 
     the following:
       (C) Receipts.--Of the monies derived from a contract 
     entered into to meet the requirements under subparagraphs (A) 
     and (B)--
       (i) 50 percent shall be deposited in the general fund of 
     the Treasury; and
       (ii) 50 percent shall be distributed to the county within 
     the boundaries of which the applicable public lands are 
     located.
       In section 1706(f)(1) of the Energy Policy Act of 2005 (as 
     added by section 50403(a)(6)), strike ``$1,000,000,000'' and 
     insert ``$819,000,000''.
