and Urban Development, and Related Agencies concluded a hearing to 
examine proposed budget estimates for fiscal year 2026 for the 
Department of Transportation, after receiving testimony from Sean P. 
Duffy, Secretary of Transportation.
DOD AND FOREIGN MILITARY SALES SYSTEM
Committee on Armed Services: Committee concluded a hearing to examine 
the Department of Defense responsibilities related to Foreign Military 
Sales system and international armaments cooperation, after receiving 
testimony from William Greenwalt, former Deputy Under Secretary of 
Defense for Industrial Policy, American Enterprise Institute; Keith 
Webster, U.S. Chamber of Commerce; and Lisa Saum-Manning, RAND.
PIPELINE SAFETY REAUTHORIZATION
Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation: Subcommittee on 
Surface Transportation, Freight, Pipelines, and Safety concluded a 
hearing to examine pipeline safety reauthorization, focusing on 
ensuring the safe and efficient movement of American energy, after 
receiving testimony from Robin Rorick, American Petroleum Institute, 
Washington, D.C.; Andrew J. Black, Liquid Energy Pipeline Association, 
Ashburn, Virginia; Richard Leger, American Gas Association, Houston, 
Texas; and Bill Caram, Pipeline Safety Trust, Bellingham, Washington.

Committee on Finance: Committee ordered favorably reported the 
nominations of James O'Neill, of California, to be Deputy Secretary, 
and Gary Andres, of Virginia, to be an Assistant Secretary, both of the 
Department of Health and Human Services.

Committee on Foreign Relations: Committee ordered favorably reported 
the nominations of Caleb Orr, of Texas, to be an Assistant Secretary 
(Economic and Business Affairs), Kenneth Howery, of Texas, to be 
Ambassador to the Kingdom of Denmark, Callista Gingrich, of Florida, to 
be Ambassador to the Swiss Confederation, and to serve concurrently and 
without additional compensation as Ambassador to the Principality of 
Liechtenstein, Somers Farkas, of New York, to be Ambassador to the 
Republic of Malta, and Leandro Rizzuto, of Florida, to be Permanent 
Representative of the United States of America to the Organization of 
American States, with the rank of Ambassador, all of the Department of 
State.

Committee on Foreign Relations: Committee concluded a hearing to 
examine the nominations of Joel Rayburn, of Oklahoma, to be an 
Assistant Secretary (Near Eastern Affairs), and Michael DeSombre, of 
Illinois, to be an Assistant Secretary (East Asian and Pacific 
Affairs), who were both introduced by Senator Hagerty, and Chris Pratt, 
of Utah, to be an Assistant Secretary (Political-Military Affairs), all 
of the Department of State, after the nominees testified and answered 
questions in their own behalf.
BUSINESS MEETING
Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions: Committee ordered 
favorably reported the nomination of Janet Dhillon, of Virginia, to be 
Director of the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation.
BUSINESS MEETING
Committee on the Judiciary: Committee ordered favorably reported the 
following business items:
  S. 180, to amend the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 
1968 to authorize the use of grant amounts for providing training and 
resources for first responders on the use of containment devices to 
prevent secondary exposure to fentanyl and other potentially lethal 
substances, and purchasing such containment devices for use by first 
responders;
  S. 237, to amend the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 
1968 to provide public safety officer benefits for exposure-related 
cancers;
  S. 419, to amend the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 
1968 to reauthorize grants to support law enforcement officers and 
families;
  S. 911, to amend the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 
1968 to include certain retired law enforcement officers in the public 
safety officers' death benefits program;
  S. 1316, to amend the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 
1968 to provide that COPS grant funds may be used for local law 
enforcement

recruits to attend schools or academies if the recruits agree to serve 
in precincts of law enforcement agencies in their communities;
  S. 1595, to establish standards for trauma kits purchased using funds 
provided under the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant 
Program;
  S. 539, to reauthorize the PROTECT Our Children Act of 2008, with an 
amendment in the nature of a substitute;
  S. 1563, to amend the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 
1968 to establish a grant program to help law enforcement agencies with 
civilian law enforcement tasks, with an amendment in the nature of a 
substitute; and
  The nomination of Jason Reding Quinones, of Florida, to be United 
States Attorney for the Southern District of Florida for the term of 
four years, Department of Justice.
