SA 1233. Mr. BOOKER submitted an amendment intended to be proposed by
him to the bill S. 331, to amend the Controlled Substances Act with
respect to the scheduling of fentanyl-related substances, and for other
purposes; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows:
At the appropriate place, insert the following:
SEC. ___. AUTHORIZATION OF APPROPRIATIONS FOR SUBSTANCE ABUSE
AND MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES ADMINISTRATION.
There are authorized to be appropriated to the Substance
Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration such sums as
may be necessary for each of fiscal years 2025 through 2034
for--
(1) prevention and harm reduction activities, especially
those activities that address the demand side of addiction
and the overdose crisis;
(2) children's mental health; and
(3) policies, programs, and practices that aim to minimize
the health, social, and economic consequences of substance
abuse.
