 PROTECTION OF WOMEN AND GIRLS IN SPORTS ACT OF 2025--Motion to Proceed

  Mr. THUNE. Mr. President, I move to proceed to Calendar No. 2, S. 9.
  The PRESIDING OFFICER. The clerk will report the bill by title.
  The senior assistant legislative clerk read as follows:

       A bill (S. 9) to provide that for purposes of determining 
     compliance with title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 
     in athletics, sex shall be recognized based solely on a 
     person's reproductive biology and genetics at birth.

  Mr. THUNE. Mr. President, I send a cloture motion to the desk.

       We, the undersigned Senators, in accordance with the 
     provisions of rule XXII of the Standing Rules of the Senate, 
     do hereby move to bring to a close debate on the motion to 
     proceed to Calendar No. 2, S. 9, a bill to provide that for 
     purposes of determining compliance with title IX of the 
     Education Amendments of 1972 in athletics, sex shall be 
     recognized based solely on a person's reproductive biology 
     and genetics at birth.
