CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF PETER RAMAGE
(Mr. DELUZIO asked and was given permission to address the House for
1 minute and to revise and extend his remarks.)
Mr. DELUZIO. Mr. Speaker, I rise today to celebrate the life and
legacy of my constituent, Peter Ramage, who passed away recently at the
age of 86.
Pete was a lifelong resident and dedicated civic leader in Etna. He
was a fellow Navy veteran with 4 years of service. He was a dedicated
educator, rising to the rank of vice principal in Pittsburgh Public
Schools and then principal of All Saints Catholic Grade School.
Pete was committed to his community. Serving as Etna Borough Council
president for 46 years, public service was in Pete's bones.
In western Pennsylvania, a life like Pete's, devoted to family,
community, and country, shows exactly who we are. We are humble, proud,
and always ready to do our part. Pete embodied the very best of western
Pennsylvania values: hard work, patriotism, and sacrifice.
I am holding Pete's wife, Mary Ellen, his family, and his entire
community in my heart as we celebrate his life and mourn his passing.
Fair winds and following seas, Pete.
