Cloture Motion
We, the undersigned Senators, in accordance with the provisions of
rule XXII of the Standing Rules of the Senate, do hereby move to bring
to a close debate on the nomination of Executive Calendar No. 19,
Howard Lutnick, of New York, to be Secretary of Commerce.
John Thune, John R. Curtis, Tommy Tuberville, Kevin
Cramer, Ashley Moody, Mike Crapo, Markwayne Mullin,
David McCormick, Mike Lee, Ron Johnson, John Barrasso,
Pete Ricketts, James C. Justice, Jon Husted, Bernie
Moreno, Josh Hawley, Tom Cotton.
Mr. THUNE. Mr. President, I am going to move here to go into
legislative session in just a minute, but I am going to point out that
these next noms that are coming up are bipartisan noms.
We are coming up on the Department of Agriculture Secretary, whose
nomination was reported out of the Senate Agriculture Committee
unanimously, not a single dissenting vote, so it seems like we might be
able to expedite this a little bit.
I don't know how long that last vote took, but we are going to keep
grinding away here, and hopefully we can do better on this next one.
