                          TRUMP TRIAL VERDICT

Mr. SCHUMER. Madam President, last Thursday, a jury found former
President Donald Trump guilty of 34 counts of falsifying business
records as part of a hush money scheme. Former President Donald Trump
is now a convicted felon.
The most important takeaway from this case is that nobody is above
the law, including Donald Trump. The former President went through the
same legal process that all Americans go through. He was tried
according to the facts and the law and was found guilty--guilty--by a
jury of his peers.
As Donald Trump considers his next steps, there should continue to be
no outside political influence, intimidation, or interference in the
case. I encourage Mr. Trump's supporters and critic alike to let the
process move forward according to law.
