MEASURE PLACED ON THE CALENDAR--S. 3853

Mr. SCHUMER. Mr. President, I understand there is a bill at the desk
due for a second reading.
The ACTING PRESIDENT pro tempore. The clerk will read the bill by
title for the second time.
The legislative clerk read as follows:

A bill (S. 3853) to extend the period for filing claims
under the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act and to provide
for compensation under such Act for claims relating to
Manhattan Project waste, and to improve compensation for
     workers involved in uranium mining.

Mr. SCHUMER. In order to place the bill on the calendar under the
provisions of rule XIV, I would object to further proceeding.
The ACTING PRESIDENT pro tempore. Objection having been heard, the
bill will be placed on the Calendar.
