PREVENTING MATERNAL DEATHS REAUTHORIZATION ACT OF 2023
The SPEAKER pro tempore. Pursuant to clause 8 of rule XX, the
unfinished business is the vote on the motion to suspend the rules and
pass the bill (H.R. 3838) to amend title III of the Public Health
Service Act to reauthorize Federal support of States in their work to
save and sustain the health of mothers during pregnancy, childbirth,
and the postpartum period, to eliminate disparities in maternal health
outcomes for pregnancy-related and pregnancy-associated deaths, to
identify solutions to improve health care quality and health outcomes
for mothers, and for other purposes, as amended, on which the yeas and
nays were ordered.

gentleman from Texas (Mr. Burgess) that the House suspend the rules and
pass the bill, as amended.

Ms. PORTER. Mr. Speaker, I was unable to be present to cast my votes

unfortunately unable to cast my vote for legislation considered on the
House floor today. Had I been able to be present, I would have voted

First Research Act 2.0, as amended; and ``yea'' on H.R. 3838--
