MOMENT OF SILENCE FOR OUR FALLEN SOLDIERS

(Ms. JACKSON LEE asked and was given permission to address the House
for 1 minute.)
Ms. JACKSON LEE. Mr. Speaker, during my tenure here in the United
States Congress, sadly, I have had the opportunity or the
responsibility of expressing sympathy to fallen soldiers.
I served in this body during the Iraq War, during the Afghan War, and
as well Bosnian, Albanian, and many other times when our soldiers were
wearing the uniform could fall in battle.
Today I rise to honor Sergeant William Rivers, Specialist Breonna
Moffet, and Specialist Kennedy Sanders who have given their last full
measure of devotion.
It saddens me when we lose our brave soldiers who are willing to put
on the uniform unselfishly. We give our deepest sympathy to their
families. We demand that honor be placed upon them and, as well, to
acknowledge that they stood for us and their Nation. We now stand for
them in their passing, their family, and certainly all of those who
love them in their community.
Mr. Speaker, I join in a moment of silence, again, for this great
body of men and women who lost their lives in the line of duty.
