DEFENDING EDUCATION TRANSPARENCY AND ENDING ROGUE REGIMES ENGAGING IN
NEFARIOUS TRANSACTIONS ACT
The SPEAKER pro tempore. Pursuant to House Resolution 906 and rule
XVIII, the Chair declares the House in the Committee of the Whole House
on the state of the Union for the further consideration of the bill,
H.R. 5933.

Accordingly, the House resolved itself into the Committee of the
Whole House on the state of the Union for the further consideration of
the bill (H.R. 5933) to amend the Higher Education Act of 1965 to
require additional information in disclosures of foreign gifts and
contracts from foreign sources, restrict contracts with certain foreign
entities and foreign countries of concern, require certain staff and
faculty to report foreign gifts and contracts, and require disclosure
of certain foreign investments within endowments, with Mr. Steube
(Acting Chair) in the chair.

The Acting CHAIR. When the committee of the Whole rose earlier today,
a request for a recorded vote on amendment No. 8 printed in part B of
House Report 118-298 offered by the gentleman from Virginia (Mr. Scott)
had been postponed.

investments within endowments, and, pursuant to House Resolution 906,
he reported the bill back to the House with sundry amendments adopted
in the Committee of the Whole.
