  PROTECTING OUR COMMUNITIES FROM FAILURE TO SECURE THE BORDER ACT OF 
                                  2023

  The SPEAKER pro tempore (Mr. Curtis). Pursuant to House Resolution 
891 and rule XVIII, the Chair declares the House in the Committee of 
the Whole House on the state of the Union for the further consideration 
of the bill, H.R. 5283.

  Accordingly, the House resolved itself into the Committee of the 
Whole House on the state of the Union for the further consideration of 
the bill (H.R. 5283) to prohibit the use of Federal funds to provide 
housing to specified aliens on any land under the administrative 
jurisdiction of the Federal land management agencies, with Mr. Steube 
(Acting Chair) in the chair.
  The Clerk read the title of the bill.
  The Acting CHAIR. When the Committee of the Whole House rose on 
Wednesday, November 29, 2023, a request for a recorded vote on 
amendment No. 2 printed in part A of House Report 118-280 offered by 
the gentlewoman from New York (Ms. Velazquez) had been postponed.
