LEGISLATIVE BRANCH APPROPRIATIONS ACT, 2024
The SPEAKER pro tempore. Pursuant to clause 1(c) of rule XIX, further
consideration of the bill, H.R. 4364, making appropriations for the
Legislative Branch for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2024, and
for other purposes will now resume.

Mr. Espaillat moves to recommit the bill H.R. 4364 to the
Committee on Appropriations.
The material previously referred to by Mr. Espaillat is as follows:
Mr. Espaillat moves to recommit the bill H.R. 4364 to the
Committee on Appropriations with instructions to report the
same back to the House forthwith, with the following
amendment:
Page 37, insert after line 17 the following (and
redesignate the following section accordingly):
Sec. 212. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, an
entity may use amounts appropriated or otherwise made
available under this Act to pay the compensation of an
officer or employee without regard to the officer's or
employee's immigration status if the officer or employee has
been issued an employment authorization document under the
Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Program of the
Secretary of Homeland Security, as set forth in the
Department of Homeland Security's August 24, 2022 final rule
entitled ``Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals''.
