  SA 1024. Mr. MENENDEZ submitted an amendment intended to be proposed 
by him to the bill S. 2226, to authorize appropriations for fiscal year 
2024 for military activities of the Department of Defense, for military 
construction, and for defense activities of the Department of Energy, 
to prescribe military personnel strengths for such fiscal year, and for 
other purposes; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows:

       At the end of subtitle E of title V, add the following:

     SEC. 560A. SERVICE ACADEMIES: NUMBERS OF NOMINATIONS BY 
                   MEMBERS OF CONGRESS AND APPOINTMENTS BY THE 
                   SECRETARIES OF THE MILITARY DEPARTMENTS.

       (a) United States Military Academy.--Section 7442 of title 
     10, United States Code, is amended--
       (1) in subsection (a), in the matter following paragraph 
     (10), by striking ``10 persons'' and inserting ``15 
     persons''; and
       (2) in subsection (b)(5), by striking ``150'' and inserting 
     ``250''.
       (b) United States Naval Academy.--Section 8454 of title 10, 
     United States Code, is amended--
       (1) in subsection (a), in the matter following paragraph 
     (10), by striking ``10 persons'' and inserting ``15 
     persons''; and
       (2) in subsection (b)(5), by striking ``150'' and inserting 
     ``250''.
       (c) United States Air Force Academy.--Section 9442 of title 
     10, United States Code, is amended--
       (1) in subsection (a), in the matter following paragraph 
     (10), by striking ``10 persons'' and inserting ``15 
     persons''; and
       (2) in subsection (b)(5), by striking ``150'' and inserting 
     ``250''.
