  SA 780. Ms. CANTWELL submitted an amendment intended to be proposed 
by her to the bill S. 2226, to authorize appropriations for fiscal year 
2024 for military activities of the Department of Defense, for military 
construction, and for defense activities of the Department of Energy, 
to prescribe military personnel strengths for such fiscal year, and for 
other purposes; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows:

       At the appropriate place in title X, insert the following:

     SEC. 10__. EXTENSION OF NATIONAL QUANTUM INITIATIVE ACT.

       The National Quantum Initiative Act (15 U.S.C. 8801 et 
     seq.) is amended--
       (1) in section 201(c) (15 U.S.C. 8831(c)), by striking 
     ``2023'' and inserting ``2024'';
       (2) in section 302 (15 U.S.C. 8842)--
       (A) in subsection (e)(1), by striking ``5 years'' and 
     inserting ``6 years''; and
       (B) in subsection (f), by striking ``2023'' and inserting 
     ``2024''; and
       (3) in section 402 (15 U.S.C. 8852)--
       (A) in subsection (e)(1), by striking ``5 years'' and 
     inserting ``6 years''; and
       (B) in subsection (f), by striking ``2023'' and inserting 
     ``2024''.
