  SA 270. Mr. REED submitted an amendment intended to be proposed by 
him to the bill S. 2226, to authorize appropriations for fiscal year 
2024 for military activities of the Department of Defense, for military 
construction, and for defense activities of the Department of Energy, 
to prescribe military personnel strengths for such fiscal year, and for 
other purposes; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows:

       At the appropriate place in title V, insert the following:

     SEC. __. EXTENSION OF TROOPS FOR TEACHERS PROGRAM TO THE JOB 
                   CORPS.

       Section 1154 of title 10, United States Code, is amended--
       (1) in subsection (a)--
       (A) in paragraph (2)--
       (i) in subparagraph (A)(ii), by striking ``; or'' and 
     inserting s semicolon;
       (ii) in subparagraph (B), by striking the period at the end 
     and inserting ``; or''; and
       (iii) by adding at the end the following new subparagraph:
       ``(C) a Job Corps center as defined in section 147 of the 
     Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (29 U.S.C. 3197).''; 
     and
       (B) in paragraph (3)--
       (i) in subparagraph (B), by striking ``; or'' and inserting 
     s semicolon;
       (ii) in subparagraph (C), by striking the period at the end 
     and inserting ``; or''; and
       (iii) by adding at the end the following new subparagraph:
       ``(D) a Job Corps center as defined in section 147 of the 
     Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (29 U.S.C. 3197).'';
       (2) in subsection (d)(4)(A)(ii), by inserting ``or Job 
     Corps centers'' after ``secondary schools''; and
       (3) in subsection (e)(2)(E), by inserting ``or Job Corps 
     center'' after ``secondary school''.
