PROTECT OUR LAW ENFORCEMENT WITH IMMIGRATION CONTROL AND ENFORCEMENT

The SPEAKER pro tempore. Pursuant to House Resolution 398 and rule
XVIII, the Chair declares the House in the Committee of the Whole House
on the state of the Union for the further consideration of the bill,
H.R. 2494.

Accordingly, the House resolved itself into the Committee of the
Whole House on the state of the Union for the further consideration of
the bill (H.R. 2494) to make the assault of a law enforcement officer a
deportable offense, and for other purposes, with Mr. Smith of Nebraska
(Acting Chair) in the chair.

The Acting CHAIR. When the Committee of the Whole rose earlier today,
a request for a recorded vote on amendment No. 2, printed in part A of
House Report 118-59 offered by the gentleman from California (Mr.
Correa) had been postponed.
