                      AMENDMENT--Motion to Proceed

  Mr. SCHUMER. Mr. President, I move to proceed to Calendar No. 3, S.J. 
Res. 4.
  The PRESIDING OFFICER. The clerk will report the motion.
  The senior assistant legislative clerk read as follows:

       Motion to proceed to Calendar No. 3, S.J. Res. 4, a joint 
     resolution removing the deadline for the ratification of the 
     Equal Rights Amendment.

     do hereby move to bring to a close debate on the motion to
