                 MEASURE PLACED ON THE CALENDAR--S. 532

  Mr. SCHUMER. First, some business, and then I will give my remarks.
  First, I understand there is a bill at the desk that is due for a 
second reading.
  The PRESIDING OFFICER. The clerk will read the bill by title for the 
second time.
  The senior assistant legislative clerk read as follows:

       A bill (S. 532) to preserve and protect the free choice of 
     individual employees to form, join, or assist labor 
     organizations, or to refrain from such activities.

  Mr. SCHUMER. In order to place the bill on the calendar under the 
provisions of rule XIV, I would object to further proceedings.
  The PRESIDING OFFICER. Objection have been heard, the bill will be 
placed on the calendar.
