EXPRESSING THE SENSE OF THE SENATE THAT THE CHINESE COMMUNIST PARTY'S
ESPIONAGE MISSION TO SEND A SURVEILLANCE BALLOON ACROSS THE UNITED
STATES, IN VIOLATION OF INTERNATIONAL LAW, IS UNACCEPTABLE AND SHOULD
BE CONDEMNED
Ms. CANTWELL. Mr. President, I ask unanimous consent that the
Committee on Armed Services be discharged from further consideration
and that the Senate now proceed to S. Res. 49.
The PRESIDING OFFICER. The clerk will report the resolution by title.
The bill clerk read as follows:
A resolution (S. Res. 49) expressing the sense of the
Senate that the Chinese Communist Party's espionage mission
to send a surveillance balloon across the United States, in
violation of international law, is unacceptable and should be
condemned.
There being no objection, the committee was discharged, and the
Senate proceeded to consider the resolution.
Ms. CANTWELL. I ask unanimous consent that the resolution be agreed
to, the preamble be agreed to, and that the motions to reconsider be
considered made and laid upon the table.
