  SA 6212. Mr. REED submitted an amendment intended to be proposed to 
amendment SA 5499 submitted by Mr. Reed (for himself and Mr. Inhofe) 
and intended to be proposed to the bill H.R. 7900, to authorize 
appropriations for fiscal year 2023 for military activities of the 
Department of Defense, for military construction, and for defense 
activities of the Department of Energy, to prescribe military personnel 
strengths for such fiscal year, and for other purposes; which was 
ordered to lie on the table; as follows:

        At the appropriate place, insert the following:

     SEC. __. PILOT PROGRAM TO REHABILITATE AND MODIFY HOMES OF 
                   DISABLED AND LOW-INCOME VETERANS.

       Section 1079 of the Carl Levin and Howard P. ``Buck'' 
     McKeon National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 
     2015 (38 U.S.C. 2101 note; Public Law 113-291) is amended--
       (1) in subsection (a)(7), by striking ``or statewide'' and 
     inserting ``, regional, statewide, or local''; and
       (2) in subsection (b)--
       (A) in paragraph (1)(C)--
       (i) in the subparagraph heading, by striking ``Maximum 
     grant'' and inserting ``Grant amount''; and
       (ii) by striking ``not exceed $1,000,000'' and inserting 
     ``be not less than $250,000 and not more than $1,500,000''; 
     and
       (B) paragraph (6)(A), by striking ``50'' and inserting 
     ``25''.
