  SA 5731. Mr. SCHUMER submitted an amendment intended to be proposed 
to amendment SA 5499 submitted by Mr. Reed (for himself and Mr. Inhofe) 
and intended to be proposed to the bill H.R. 7900, to authorize 
appropriations for fiscal year 2023 for military activities of the 
Department of Defense, for military construction, and for defense 
activities of the Department of Energy, to prescribe military personnel 
strengths for such fiscal year, and for other purposes; which was 
ordered to lie on the table; as follows:

        At the end of subtitle G of title X, add the following:

     SEC. 1077. AUTHORIZATION OF APPROPRIATIONS FOR THE NATIONAL 
                   MARITIME HERITAGE GRANTS PROGRAM.

       Section 308703 of title 54, United States Code, is 
     amended--
       (1) in subsection (b)(1), by inserting ``subsection (k) 
     and'' after ``amounts for that purpose under'';
       (2) in subsection (c)(1), by inserting ``subsection (k) 
     and'' after ``amounts for that purpose under''; and
       (3) by adding at the end the following:
       ``(k) Authorization of Appropriations.--There is authorized 
     to be appropriated to the Secretary to carry out this section 
     $10,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2023 and 2024.''.
