(a) Short Title.--This section may be cited as the
``Planning for American Energy Independence Act''.
(b) Outer Continental Shelf Leasing Program.--Section 18(e)
of the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act (43 U.S.C. 1344(e))
is amended--
(1) by inserting ``(1) in general.--'' before ``The
Secretary shall review''; and
(2) by adding at the end the following:
``(2) Five-year program for 2022 through 2027.--The
Secretary shall issue the five-year oil and gas leasing
program for 2022 through 2027.''.
