     MEASURES READ THE FIRST TIME EN BLOC--H.R. 6968 and H.R. 7108

  Mr. DURBIN. Mr. President, I understand that there are two bills at 
the desk, and I ask for their first reading.
  The PRESIDING OFFICER. The clerk will read the bills by title for the 
first time.
  The legislative clerk read as follows:

       A bill (H.R. 6968) to prohibit the importation of energy 
     products of the Russian Federation, and for other purposes.
       A bill (H.R. 7108) to suspend normal trade relations 
     treatment for the Russian Federation and the Republic of 
     Belarus, and for other purposes.

  Mr. DURBIN. I now ask for a second reading, and in order to place the 
bills on the calendar under the provisions of rule XIV, I object to my 
own request.
  The PRESIDING OFFICER. Objection having been heard, the bills will 
receive their second reading on the next legislative day.
