  Mr. SCHUMER. Mr. President, I ask unanimous consent that when the 
Senate completes its business today, it adjourn to convene for a pro 
forma session only, with no business conducted, at 11:20 a.m. on 
Friday, January 14; further, that when the Senate adjourns on Friday, 
it stand adjourned until 12 noon on Tuesday, January 18; that following 
the prayer and the pledge, the morning hour be deemed expired, the 
Journal of proceedings be approved to date, the time for the two 
leaders be reserved for their use later in the day, and the Senate 
proceed to a period of morning business, with Senators permitted to 
speak therein for up to 10 minutes each.
  The PRESIDING OFFICER. Without objection, it is so ordered.
  Mr. SCHUMER. I suggest the absence of a quorum.
  The PRESIDING OFFICER. The clerk will call the roll.
  The senior assistant legislative clerk proceeded to call the roll.
