EXECUTIVE CALENDAR
Mr. KAINE. Madam President, I ask unanimous consent that the Senate
proceed to executive session to consider the following nomination:
Calendar No. 66.
The PRESIDING OFFICER. Without objection, it is so ordered.
The clerk will report the nomination.
The senior assistant legislative clerk read the nomination of
Victoria Nuland, of Virginia, to be an Under Secretary of State
(Political Affairs).
There being no objection, the Senate proceeded to consider the
nomination.
Mr. KAINE. I know of no further debate.
The PRESIDING OFFICER. Is there further debate on the nomination?
If not, the question is, Will the Senate advise and consent to the
Nuland nomination?
The nomination was confirmed.
Mr. KAINE. I ask unanimous consent that the motion to reconsider be
considered made and laid upon the table with no intervening action or
debate; that no further motions be in order to the nomination; that any
statements related to the nomination be printed in the Record; that the
President be immediately notified of the Senate's action; and that the
Senate then resume legislative session.
The PRESIDING OFFICER. Without objection, it is so ordered.
