MEASURES PLACED ON THE CALENDAR--S. 963 and H.R. 1868
Mr. SCHUMER. Madam President, first, I understand that there are two
bills at the desk due for a second reading en bloc.
The ACTING PRESIDENT pro tempore. The leader is correct.
The clerk will read the bills by title for a second time.
The senior assistant legislative clerk read as follows:
A bill (S. 963) to authorize dedicated domestic terrorism
offices within the Department of Homeland Security, the
Department of Justice, and the Federal Bureau of
Investigation to analyze and monitor domestic terrorist
activity and require the Federal Government to take steps to
prevent domestic terrorism, and for other purposes.
A bill (H.R. 1868) to prevent across-the-board direct
spending cuts, and for other purposes.
Mr. SCHUMER. In order to place the bills on the calender under the
provisions of rule XIV, I would object to further proceeding en bloc.
The ACTING PRESIDENT pro tempore. Objection having been heard, the
bills will be placed on the calendar.
